ELEY, an outfit well-known in the competitive shooting community for their accurate rimfire ammunition, has expanded their product lineup to include .177 caliber air gun pellets. The new pellets will be known as ELEY ‘ventus.’ Ventus is the Latin word for wind.

It seems that ELEY will be sticking with all lower case letters for their product names―force, contact, tenex, etc., and now ventus. Ventus pellets will retail for $20 per box.

The company had this to say about the new product:

“ELEY is the world’s most accurate competition .22LR ammunition manufacturer and ELEY pellets will follow suit. ELEY ventus pellets are a result of years of research and development and are manufactured from all raw material.”

Ventus pellets will be manufactured by ELEY in Birmingham, United Kingdom, and should be extremely accurate, because they will face the same strict manufacturing and analytical processes as ELEY’s world-class rimfire ammo.

ELEY is offering ventus pellets in three different flavors: 4.49 mm, 4.50 mm and 4.51 mm. The different diameters are available so shooters can find the pellet that will perfectly fit their firearms. The ventus line ships in damage resistant packaging―four compartments and a foam rubber cushion should prove to be not only rugged, but also allow for easy dispensing. The transparent box allows visual inspection of the contents inside easily. Additionally, the packaging will minimize movement using a click-shut mechanism that will ensure the precious pellets inside are kept in place securely.

There’s a bonus, too. Shooters can test ELEY ventus pellets at the ELEY test facility in Winters, TX. You can now have your air rifle tested at the same range as your smallbore rifle. [Editor’s note: Read Chip Lohman’s 2013 article on the ELEY test range: www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/nra/ssusa_201302/index.php#/16]
