18th Annual Empire Satellite Grand American Tournament Coming In May

The 2022 Empire Satellite Grand American tournament will be conducted May 18-22 at the New York State ATA Homegrounds in Cicero, New York.

The ATA conducts several satellite Grand American tournaments across the country, along with the main Grand American World Trapshooting Tournament, which this year will be held August 3-13 in Sparta, Illinois.

There will be 14 events in total at the 2022 Empire Satellite Grand American tournament. On Wednesday, May 18 at 10:00 a.m. sharp, the tournament commences, with the New York State ATA hosting Events 1 through 6. Events 7 through 12 comprise the Empire Grand, which culminates in Event 13, the 2022 Empire Grand American High-All-Around presented by Kolar on Sunday, May 22. Spanning 400 targets, this event includes Events 10 through 12. Also on Sunday will be Event 14, the 2022 Empire Grand American High-Over-All presented by White Flyer. With 1,000 targets, Event 14 includes Events 4 through 12.

Regarding this year’s Empire Satellite Grand American tournament, Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) President F. Darryl Hayes expressed his thanks to the hardworking staff of the New York ATA, who spend considerable time and effort to produce a Satellite Grand American for trapshooters to enjoy. His message to competitors: “Enjoy the spring weather, visit with old and new friends, and take advantage of the opportunity to break some great scores and have a great time.”
