The 2024 NRA World Shooting Championship, presented by Walther Arms will take place at Camp Atterbury in Edinburgh, Ind., April 3-6.

Originally launched in 2014, the NRA World Shooting Championship is the ultimate all-encompassing tournament that crowns an undisputed “World Shooting Champion” from amateur and professional shooters. The last NRA World Shooting Championship was held in 2019 at the Peacemaker National Training Center in West Virginia.

More than $250,000 in cash and prizes will be up for grabs to the field of 2024 NRA World Shooting Championship competitors, with a $25,000 check going to the NRA World Shooting Champion, plus $1,000 for each stage winner. Along with the first through third place overall finishers and the stage winners bringing home cash prizes, there will be substantial cash awards for High Lady and High Amateur Junior. Once again, the NRA World Shooting Championship will feature separate prize tables for Professional and Amateur competitors.

“Walther is involved in a wide array of competitive shooting sports, and we are thrilled to support this event and the range of competitions which it represents,” Rob McCanna, president and CEO of title sponsor Walther Arms, Inc., said. “Support for the shooting community and support for the NRA go hand-in-hand and we look forward to the return of this one-of-a-kind competition.”

The NRA, match sponsors and the state of Indiana are again showing their continued commitment to supporting competitive shooting and the Second Amendment. Indiana First Lady Janet Holcomb will help kick-off this historic event. She will be joined by executives from Title Sponsor Walther Arms, NRA officials and board members, and Indiana State Rifle and Pistol Association President and NRA Board Member Charlie Hiltunen.

“The NRA World Shooting Championship is the ultimate challenge for competitors in any shooting discipline, and I was absolutely thrilled to learn that Indiana will play host in 2024,” Indiana First Lady Janet Holcomb said. “Camp Atterbury continues to expand its facilities and capacity for events of this nature, making it the perfect location for this elite competition. I know for certain that spectators, and competitors from around the globe, will be greeted with two things; an immensely challenging course of fire, and the Hoosier hospitality that is the trademark of our great state.”

“The Indiana State Rifle and Pistol Association is proud to be a part of the NRA World Shooting Championship,” Indiana State Rifle and Pistol Association President Charlie Hiltunen said. “NRA and ISRPA, the State Affiliate of the NRA, working with the State of Indiana, Indiana National Guard, and our amazing shooting competition and youth shooting sports community are laying the foundation for establishing Indiana as the shooting sports capital of the world.”

2024 MATCH INFORMATION

All firearms, optics and ammunition are provided to NRA World Shooting Championship competitors to level the playing field for this unique competition. Shooters will compete in 12 stages of fire spanning multiple rifle, pistol, shotgun and combined firearm sports disciplines. Additionally, there will be nine side matches.

This year, NRA World Shooting Championship competitors have the opportunity to shoot seven different events each day over the course of the three-day match—four stages that are part of the main competition, along with three of the side matches.

The competition will begin with a mandatory competitors’ meeting on the evening of April 3, followed by three days of competition, April 4-6.

Competitors may register as an individual in either the Professional or Amateur divisions. A Professional is defined as an “individual who receives financial support over $2,000 per year in products, cash or services in support of competitive shooting participation. A Professional is also any competitor who has placed in the ‘top five’ of the Amateur Category in any previous NRA World Shooting Championship.” As for the Amateur definition, that is “anyone who does not meet the definition of the ‘Professional.’”

Regarding categories, competitors may register as individuals in the Lady or Junior categories. An Amateur Junior is aged 12 to 17 at the start of the match.

The entry fee for professionals is $375 and $325 for amateurs and junior amateurs. Mulligans are also available for competitors at the NRA World Shooting Championship, although each shooter is limited to only one mulligan for the entire match. In addition, professionals must pay $50 for a mulligan, while amateur shooters, both adults and juniors, will receive one free mulligan.
