We have begun preparations for the 2016 National Matches. Our goal is to get everything up online even earlier this time around. The final programs will be approved by December and will be online by February 1. Our first staff selection meeting is in October. I intend on increasing the level of staff for 2016.

Camp Perry Pistol still had some problems this year, with equipment on Range 4 malfunctioning. The range had to be closed, with competitors moving to other ranges. We managed to work through it in 2015, but I believe that we can expect further equipment problems in the future.

NRA President Allan Cors has asked the competitive committees to come up with new games, using new firearms, and/or any combination thereof that will get more people out and shooting. The goal is to benefit all competitors in all disciplines. If you have any ideas, please send them to me at [email protected] for presentation to the committees.

The combined Metric and Conventional Smallbore Championships held in Bristol, Indiana have run its expected two year course. Many competitors wish to return to Camp Perry and many wish to stay in Bristol. We will be meeting with the Smallbore Committee in October to discuss this issue.

Following the above meeting we will create the appropriate 2016 calendar for Camp Perry and get it published as quickly as we can. Camp Perry will start one week later next year, with the First Shot Ceremony held on Monday, July 11, 2016.
