IPSC Shotgun World Shoot: Lena Miculek Successfully Defends Ladies Standard Title

Team SIG professional shooter Lena Miculek mounted a successful defense of her Ladies Standard World Shotgun title at the 2023 IPSC Shotgun World Shoot IV held in Thailand last week. This marks the fourth time that that Miculek has defended her title after first earning it at the 2012 IPSC Shotgun World Shoot in Hungary.

The 2023 IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation) Shotgun World Shoot was held in Pattaya, Thailand, December 3-10.

Lena Miculek is the only woman to have earned the IPSC Shotgun World Shoot Ladies Standard World title in the history of the match, after this win in Thailand, as well as topping the Ladies Standard leaderboard at IPSC Shotgun World Shoots in 2012 (Hungary), 2015 (Italy) and 2018 (France).

Her final time at the 2023 IPSC Shotgun World Shoot in Thailand was 490.10 and she earned a total of 1488.5601 points.

Miculek also earned a gold medal in the SG Standard Lady Team match with U.S. teammates Jalise Williams and Becky Yackley. Miculek led her team after scoring 1,488.5599 points in the match. Her team, named “USA Standard Lady,” scored a total of 3,749.2786 points, which was 621.2708 points ahead of the runner-up team, “POL Standard Lady.”

In total, Miculek earned three gold medals at the 2023 IPSC Shotgun World Shoot.

In addition to earning the top award among all women, Miculek placed 13th among all of the standard competitors (men and women), is the only woman to ever break into the top 20 at an IPSC Shotgun World Shoot, was the highest scoring woman of all women competitors across all divisions (including modified and open competitors) and won the Ladies Standard shoot-off.
