Matt Alwine Secures Back-To-Back Long-Range Rifle Victories

Team Savage’s Matt Alwine wins pair of NRL Hunter Series and Precision Rifle Series matches in March.

Team Savage shooter Matt Alwine has performed admirably in March with a pair of precision rifle wins in California, including a triumphant first-place finish in the National Rifle League Hunter Series Mason Valley Steel Hunter match, followed by a top finish in Production division at the Precision Rifle Series Central Coast Chaos match.

Matt Alwine was shooting a custom Savage 110 Ultralite Elite chambered in 25 Creedmoor to capture first place in Open Heavy and first overall in the Open Light division at the 2024 NRL Hunter Series Mason Valley Steel match in Julian, Calif., March 1-3.

 

Alwine knocked out the competition at the 2024 Mason Valley Steel Hunter match in Julian, California, March 1-3, using a custom Savage 110 Ultralite Elite chambered in 25 Creedmoor. He secured first in Open Heavy and first overall in the Open Light division. The victory marks the third consecutive win in the 2024 NRL Hunter Series for Team Savage and Alwine.

The following weekend, Alwine topped the Production division leaderboard at the 2024 PRS Central Coast Chaos match in San Luis Obispo, California, on March 9. Alwine secured his win shooting a Savage 110 Elite Precision chambered in 6 mm Creedmoor. Additionally, with 158 match points, Alwine was also ranked 13th on the overall match leaderboard.

The NRL Hunter Match Series challenges the nation’s top-tier shooters, testing their ability in a variety of shooting scenarios. As for the Precision Rifle Series, this competition brings together top shooters from across the United States, as well as internationally, to put their skills to the test.
