New from Colt is the CBX Precision Rifle, which the company calls a “premium precision rifle worthy of the Colt name.”

With features geared towards competitive shooters, the CBX Precision Rifle is not only customizable for fit, but also modular, with the ability to accommodate aftermarket accessories such as suppressors, weights, AICS magazines and optic mounts. Watch the video below.

Modular chassis rifle systems are a popular choice for precision competitive shooters. The new Colt CBX’s user-adjustable length-of-pull and cheek weld provide a way for shooters to obtain a custom fit. The rifle’s aluminum chassis sports a 15-inch extended fore-end with an ARCA rail and M-LOK slots for mounting accessories. An aggressive barricade stop is also present, along with an angled pistol grip, built-in thumb shelf, quick-detach cups and ambidextrous magazine release.

Barrel length for the new Colt CBX Precision Rifle is 24 inches (.308 Win.) and 26 inches (6.5 mm Creedmoor).

The CBX Precision Rifle System includes a flat-bottom receiver to reduces flex and to also help improve accuracy. The 60-degree bolt throw allows for faster cycling times and increased optic compatibility. The ergonomic two-position tang safety is intuitive and quick to operate. In addition, the crisp trigger is adjustable by the user from 2.5 to five pounds.

Colt optimized the CBX’s carbon steel, button-rifled barrel’s length for ballistic performance. The 6.5 mm Creedmoor has a 26-inch barrel (1:8-inch, right-hand twist), while the .308 Win. uses a 24-inch one (1:10-inch, right-hand twist). Both feature 5/8-24 UNEF threaded muzzles with thread protectors, plus a black nitride treatment to protect from corrosion while providing a tactical matte finish.

Other features included with the CBX Precision Rifle System are a one-piece Picatinny rail with Remington 700 compatible scope mounts, and a detachable five-round Magpul AICS magazine.

MSRP for both the 6.5 mm Creedmoor and .308 Win. versions of the new Colt CBX Precision Rifle is $1,899. Learn more at colt.com.
