The inaugural Nightforce Precision Tactical 2-Rifle Match will be a blend of the rifle component of 3-Gun and target engagements from the Precision Rifle Series (PRS). The match will be held Aug. 27-28, at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, NM. Running the match are Denise and J.J. Johnson, who have vast experience from running the legendary Rocky Mountain 3-Gun match.

The match format will consist of 10 stages, with shooters running both a carbine and precision rifle on each stage. 300 yard targets will be engaged with the carbine, while precision rifles will engage steel to 1000 yards. Estimated minimum round counts will be 200 rounds for the carbine and 100 rounds for the precision rifle. The maximum number of competitors will be limited to 100 for the first year.

If you’re a precision shooter who’s always wanted to try action shooting, or an action shooter who wants to try a new game with more precision and accuracy, this match might be for you.

"We are thrilled to partner with Denise and J.J. for this event, as we feel this is a unique match concept that will appeal to shooters from both multigun and precision rifle," says Sean Murphy, Marketing Project Manager and shooter for Nightforce Optics. "I think competitors will enjoy using their favorite carbine on targets from up close to 300 yards, and then transitioning to a precision rifle out to 1000 yards on every stage. The NRA Whittington Center is a perfect choice for this event, with the unlimited potential for exciting stages shot across their corner of the Rocky Mountains."
