Savage was in full force at SHOT Show 2019, with a new expanded lineup of modern sporting rifles (MSR) on display. One model that caught our eye is the new MSR-10 Precision. Shooting Illustrated's Managing Editor Jay Grazio had the chance to shoot the MSR-10 during Industry Day at the Range. Watch the video above.

The Savage MSR-10 Precision (MSRP: $2,499) includes a 22.5-inch stainless steel heavy barrel with 5R button rifling. An accurate way to describe this rifle is highly user-configurable. It includes upgrades that long-range precision shooters will enjoy, like an 18-inch Arca handguard, Magpul PRS stock and TangoDown Battlegrip Flip Grip. The Flip Grip quickly rotates from 24 degrees of rake to vertical.

As for the action, its a direct-impingement semi-automatic made from aluminum. There's also a two-stage trigger and adjustable gas block with lock nut.

Savage's Patrick Kelly says the MSR-10 Precision is probably his favorite rifle in the MSR lineup. Kelly says his favorite element on this rifle is the integral Arca-Swiss rail on the fore end.

Overall length of the MSR-10 Precision is 44 inches, and the weight is 11.4 pounds (.308 Win. version).

There's three popular long-range calibers available that the MSR-10 Precision can be chambered in: 6.5mm Creedmoor, 6mm Creedmoor and .308 Win.

There's other models in Savage's expanded 2019 MSR lineup that are of interest to competitive shooters. The Savage MSR-10 Competition HD features an 18-inch carbon fiber-wrapped, stainless-steel barrel that was custom-built specifically for this rifle. The special barrel is the result of a collaborative effort between Savage and PROOF Research. Uniquely, each barrel has a ported muzzle brake that allows shooters to fine-tune recoil impulse for muzzle stabilization. The intention is for faster and more accurate follow-up shots.
